Kids Programming Starts in September!


Preschool Storytime @ 10 am, Mondays in Pleasant Plains and Wednesdays in Ashland. Begins September 13th. We will meet outdoors; weather permitting. Please bring a blanket or chair.

LEGO Club for builders aged Kindergarten and up! Meets October 12th,3:30 - 4:30  in Plains; October 14th,3:30 - 4:30 in Ashland.

2021 Summer Reading Success: 63,690 minutes!

Thank you to our Summer Readers, parents, and caregivers for taking part in our 2021 program! In our Pre K -Grade 6 age group, 141 reading logs were distributed and 59 returned with those readers logging 63,690 total minutes read! Our new Teen Reading Tournament (for Grades 7-12) had 14 readers entered for weekly drawings based on the number of books read.

A special thank you to our 2021 sponsors, our library staff, and our volunteers for their efforts to provide a fun and rewarding program for our readers!

PSPLD has four Library Drop Boxes to return items:

COVID-19 Guidelines: Updated 8/26/21


Beginning Monday, August 30th, both vaccinated and unvaccinated patrons 2 years of age and older must wear a mask and practice social distancing while visiting either library location.

This decision is in accordance with Governor Pritzker's indoor mask mandate, which goes into effect statewide on Monday, August 30th, 2021.

We will continue to offer Curbside Service and Contact-less home delivery. 

Please call ahead and arrange a time with staff for either service.

Small Groups are allowed to meet at either location. Groups of 9 or less may meet in Ashland; Groups of 12 or less may meet in Pleasant Plains.
