*Both locations are closed the Second Thursday of each month from 9-12 for monthly Staff Meeting. (Open those days 12 noon - 7:00pm).

Prairie Skies Public Library District is now open

on select evenings and Saturdays in both locations.


Updated hours beginning Feb 1st:
Ashland: Mon., Thurs., & Friday 9am – 5pm; Tuesday 11am – 7pm; Wednesday
8am – 4pm; and Saturday 10am – 1pm.

Pleasant Plains: Mon., Tues., Wed., & Friday 9am – 5pm; Thursday 11am – 7pm;
and Saturday 10am – 1pm.

Small groups are allowed to meet at either location. Groups of 9 or less may meet in Ashland; Groups of 12 or less may meet in Pleasant Plains.

Patrons are encouraged to use Curbside Service. Please call ahead and arrange a time with staff for pick-up. Contact-less home delivery is still available.

Patrons coming into either location must wear a mask and practice social distancing!

We will limit how many patrons may be in the library and how long they can stay.


While you may browse new books, DVD's and items on display,

staff will retrieve items from the stacks for patrons.

  Our WiFi will remain on and can be used outside each location.

There are also WiFi hotspots at the Ashland Village Hall

PSPLD has four convenient locations for you to return items borrowed from the Library: 

  • Ashland and Pleasant Plains Library Buildings,

  • Drop Boxes at Farmingdale Elementary School and at the Gardner Township Building.

  • Drop Boxes are available at all hours and when the Library is closed for a holiday.

Book Clubs

The Ashland Book Club (ABC) meets on the third Tuesday at 5:00pm at Ashland

This bookclub is not meeting at this time.

The Bookies Book club meets on the fourth Thursday at 7:00pm at Pleasant Plains.

Cookbook Book Club

We have a book club especially for people interested in recipes and cookbooks.  

The group meets on the first Thursday at Pleasant Plains starting at 6 pm for anyone interested.  Anyone is welcomed to come and share their favorite dish.

 This bookclub is not meeting at this time.
