The Prairie Skies Public Library District is looking for enthusiastic, interested, community-minded members to serve a two-year term as trustee on the library board.  If you feel libraries are an important benefit to communities and want to see them continue to grow and thrive then we are looking for you.  For more information click on the library icon.

*Both locations are closed the Second Thursday of each month from 9-12 for monthly Staff Meeting. (Open those days 12 noon - 7:00pm).

PSPLD has four convenient locations for you to return items borrowed from the Library: 

  • Ashland and Pleasant Plains Library Buildings,

  • Drop Boxes at Farmingdale Elementary School and at the Gardner Township Building.

  • Drop Boxes are available at all hours and when the Library is closed for a holiday.

The Prairie Skies Public Library District is open

You may now place holds on items owned by other libraries.

All Programs have been cancelled till further notice.

We are now allowing small groups to meet at both locations.  Anyone attending a meeting will need to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Curbside service and contact-less home delivery will still be offered.

  Our WiFi will remain on and can be used outside each location.  There are also WiFi hotspots at the Ashland Village Hall and the Pleasant Plains Firehouse.

The Summer Reading Program finished on July 31.  Starting August 10-14 participants can visit the library to pick up their prizes.

The Ashland Book Club (ABC) meets on the third Tuesday at 5:00pm at Ashland

The Bookies Book club meets on the fourth Thursday at 7:00pm at Pleasant Plains.

Cookbook Book Club

We have a book club especially for people interested in recipes and cookbooks.  

The group meets on the first Thursday at Pleasant Plains starting at 6 pm for anyone interested.  Anyone is welcomed to come and share their favorite dish.

 This bookclub is not meeting at this time.

Third Thursday Lego Group

CANCELLED until further notice

    Held at Ashland, the group meets on the third Thursday, from 5:30 - 6:30pm.  For more information click the LEGO pieces.

The Prairie Skies Public Library District has gone "Fine-Free". Patrons will no longer be charged late fees for items.  They will still be responsible for returning them on the day due.
